828 Family Pizzeria: A Slice of Italian Delight in Asheville

Amazing pizza!! Also excited to find out they offer fried eggplant as a pizza topping - really good on their Monster Pizza. Also, their canollis are delicious!! Staff is friendly & fantastic at what they do. One of my favorite pizza places in town!

Can’t say how grateful I am for this place. We were in town for a soccer tournament from Maryville TN. Most places didn’t have a desire of a party of 30+ that included 16, 12 year old boys. 828 Pizzeria welcomed us with open arms, worked with me in putting orders in and getting them out in amazing speed! The food was absolutely AMAZING!

How this place doesn’t have five star reviews is beyond me. If you have a love for New York pizza, like you’re from there originally or just know it’s the best pizza in the world (yes, I love it more than pizza in Italy—I grew up in NY and NJ and lived in Philly for several years as an adult). If you’re in doubt, please just get the “New Yorker” pie and I promise you’ll never have to go up north again.

I have been coming to 828 Family Pizzeria in North Asheville for years, and it’s made it’s way onto my speed dial! The atmosphere is warm and family friendly… like you’re going to your friend’s house for pizza night. Their pizza is incredible, but I’ve pretty much exclusively switched to their calzone because it’s THAT good! The ingredients taste fresh and the combination of their sauce with melted ricotta inside is out of this world. Pick up is very convenient, and the staff always seem to have a spring in their step. Even when it gets busy they stay upbeat and kind. I also love that 828 has deep roots and a long family tradition. They are a real local family owned business, and it always feels good to support a place that puts so much heart into what they do. Parking is usually easy, though at peak times you might need to use the adjacent lot or down by Ingles. If you do, you’ll pass the bird store next door which is also worth a visit! Highly recommend for the food, the feel, and the people.

Decided to try this pizzeria based on the positive reviews..I was not disappointed! Ordered the classic cheese. As you see in the picture, it's a thin crust pizza and unique in the fact that the tomato sauce is placed in dollops instead of all over the pizza. I felt it brought out the flavor of the cheese and the seasoning they used. We happened to look at the table next to us and their cheese pizza looked different from ours and what we were actually expecting to arrive at our table. We asked the waitress what the difference was and she told us they had the New York style cheese pizza! Their pizza looked like what you normally expect a cheese pizza would look like. We'll definitely go back and try that next time!

We absolutely loved our experience tonight at 828 Family Pizzeria! The pizza is true NY style, and it can hold its own with NY pies. Our server, Matt, went above and beyond to take care of us for our first time there (thank you for the delicious tiramisu!). We can’t wait to be back next time we’re in Asheville.

This is no ordinary pizza place. This family has been making pizza for generations and it shows. Began as “Patsy’s” pizza in New York (which coincidentally was the pizza place we walked into while visiting NY several years ago) It was delicious then and still delicious now! Family friendly atmosphere. They make the pizzas right in the dining room where you can witness their culinary skills! The menu offers a good variety of Calzones, salads, Italian favorites and desserts. They also have a respectable beer and wine list. Staff gave us excellent service! Would definitely return!

I recently had the pleasure of having lunch with my family at this amazing pizzeria, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends or family. The pizzas are absolutely delicious — fresh ingredients, perfectly baked crust, and a variety of options for every taste. What truly made the experience outstanding, however, was the exceptional service. Our waiter, David, was very attentive abd friendly. He took the time to explain the menu, made great recommendations, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our visit. His professionalism and warm attitude really made a difference. Highly recommended — and if you go, make sure to ask for David!
